Pingtung County Promotes Soil and Groundwater Pollution Prevention, Monitoring and Maintenance Work Plan, and Cooperates with EPA Plans in 2019

Absrtact
The project includes sampling and analysis of water quality of underground wells, sampling and analysis of monitoring wells in areas where groundwater is polluted by chlorine pollution, and sampling and analysis of agricultural soil in Neipu Township. The benefit of the implementation of this plan is to grasp the current environmental conditions of soil and groundwater in Pingtung County to ensure local soil and water quality and people's health. Underground civilian well water quality inspection: 4 civilian wells were selected near the No. 364 and other places in the She'an section of Wandan Township. The analysis items were the contents of 8 heavy metals (copper, mercury, zinc, lead, chromium, cadmium, arsenic, and nickel). Either in the first and second half of the year, the results of heavy metal testing in 4 underground water wells were lower than the second-class groundwater monitoring standards. Sampling and analysis of agricultural soils in Neipu Township: This project conducted sampling and analysis of 70 blocks (700 hectares) of agricultural soils in Neipu Township. The analysis results show that the concentration of heavy metals in the soil of each block is lower than the soil pollution and monitoring standards of edible crops. The project's expected effect is to ensure the safety of crops by carrying out inspections of groundwater in areas with pollution potential, maintaining regional water safety, and investigating agricultural soil quality.
